LITERARY LUNCHEON

Today we rode our very "Cambridge" bicycles to Granchester for lunch in the "Orchard", and so add to the list of English literary giants who have graced this famous tea house.
Rupert Brooke, Virginia Wolf, E.M Forster, Bertrand Russell, and more recently Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath.
---------------------------
Ah God! To see the branches stir, Across the moon at Grantchester.
--------------------------------------
There shall be in that rich earth, a richer dust concealed
A dust which England bore, shaped and made aware
Gave, once, her flower to love, her ways to roam
A body of England's, breathing English air.
I must turn those lines into a poem some day, -- when I get time.
Fish and Chips alas, were cancelled yester eve,
But despair not their loss, for on this day, this famous Saturday
A potato which England bore, shaped and made into a chip
Will, with his piscus lie, their plate to grace
A body of England, eating English fayre
The Hills Road group of poets

I want to ride my bicycle

Under the spreading apple tree

We must admit to having a soft spot for Italy but everywhere in this magazine looks wonderful. When we saw enna, she had the church floor all covered up so we look forward to seeing the forthcoming re-creation at Margate St. By the way, if the backyard horse race is still open for discussion, it has our vote!
(could domestic pets be raced as substitutes, where would you put the grandstands, sell the TV rights or free to air?, there is still a lot of water to go under the bridge but this thing has legs!)

Anyway, back in jolly olde England now, you must be again glad to get some use out of the umbrella's you've been dragging around. Enjoy the remainder of 2007, we have put in our annual leave forms to view photo's on your return....

Glad to see you've seen the light and are back in Blighty again... sunshine is just so over-rated, don't you think?

All that trekking must surely have left you in need of some more Macclesfield BOGOFF shoes (or even a pair?) so do give us a call when you venture back up here!
